Meet and greet at the airport and proceed to Habarana, on the way visit Pinnawela Elephant orphanage where you could witness around 65 Elephants in very close range. Afternoon Via Visit Sigiriya. Overnight at Habarana.
After breakfast, proceed to Polonnaruwa. The high quality of Sinhalese architecture and sculpture continued when Polonnaruwa became the capital of Sri Lanka after Anuradhapura. In fact, some of the religious monuments were more impressive than those in Polonnaruwa which is the second most ancient of Sri Lanka’s kingdoms. The ancient monarchs moved there when Anuradhapura, their stronghold was attacked by invaders from India. At nearly 1000 years old, POLONNARUWA is one of Sri Lanka’s and World’s most ancient capital cities. Admire the majestic palace ruins and temples and impressive dagobas.
After breakfast, departure to Kandy. On the way we will visit the Dambulla Temples, a Matale Spice Garden & a Batik Factory before arriving in Kandy for a visit to the famous Kandy Temple of the Tooth. Kandy was the last capital of the Sri Lankan kings, and a World Heritage site. The name Kandy conjures visions of splendor and magnificence. Many of the legends, traditions and folklore are still lovingly kept alive in the area. Drive around the Kandy lake built by the last king Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe in 1806. Visit the Arts & Crafts centre and a gem museum and a lapidary. In the afternoon visit the Peradeniya Botanical Garden. This botanical garden was first built as a pleasure garden by a sinhala king and was expanded by the British. It is 147 acres in extent and provides an amazing variety of trees, plants and flowers. Dinner and overnight stay at a Kandy Hotel.
After breakfast proceed to Nuwara Eliya. On the way we will stop to visit a tea plantation and a tea factory, where the best tea in the world is produced. The process of manufacturing tea will be explained to you and you can also see how tea is graded. Taste a cup of pure Ceylon tea in the factory. Nuwara Eliya, because of its invigorating mountain climate and scenery, is Sri Lanka’s most popular hill resort. Sri Lanka’s highest mountain Pidurutalagala (8282 feet) is located here. Nuwara-eliya also has one of the finest 18 hole golf courses in South Asia. Dinner and overnight stay at a Nuwara Eliya hotel.
After breakfast tour of Colombo which includes busy bazaar area, Kovils, Temples, Independence square, BMICH ETC, back to hotel in overnight stay at a Negombo.
