Day 1 – FLYING FROM EUROPE

Departure from Europe to Bangkok.

Day 2 – BANGKOK

Meeting on arrival and transfer to your hotel. After lunch visit the Wat Arun Temple and walk in Chinatown. Accommodation in Bangkok.

Day 3 – BANGKOK / KHAO YAI NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast departure to the Khao Yai National park, including a visit to a bat cave in the evening. Accommodation in Khao Yai.

Day 4 – KHAO YAI NATIONAL PARK

Visit Khao Yai national park with a local guide. The Park is the refuge of wild elephants, tigers, bears, porcupines, all kinds of monkeys, snakes and parrots. Accommodation in Khao Yai.

Day 5 – KHAO YAI / PIMAI / KHON KAEN

Departure for Pimai via Korat to visit the ruins of temples of the Khmer period that were once linked by road to Angkor. Then the trip continues towards Khon Kaen for overnight.

Day 6 – KHON KAEN / LOEI

Visit Khon Kaen in the morning and then departure to Chumpas and the province of Loei. Accommodation in Loei.

Day 7 LOEI / NONG KHAI

After visiting the sights of Loei departure to Chiang Khan in the North at the Mekong River. Accommodation in Nong Khai

Day 8 – NONG KHAI / SAKORN NAKORN

In the morning visit the Wat Phra That Renu Nakhon Changchun Temple. This place is known for its shirts and embroidered sarongs, very popular souvenirs. Then you will continue to Nakhon Phanom to visit the respected shrine of Isan: the Pra That Phanom a 9th century temple. Accommodation in Sakorn.

Day 9 – NAKORN PHANOM / UBON RATCHATHANI

Visit Nakorn and then the trip continues along the Laotian border via Mukdahan to Ubon with few picturesque and interesting stops.

Day 10 – UBON RATCHATHANI / SI SAKET / SURIN

In the morning, visit the remarkable temples of Ubon: Wat Pah Pong and Wat Pah Nanachat. These two forest temples follow the teaching of the honourable monk Archan Cha, known abroad and Professor of some Western celebrities converted to Buddhism. The journey continues towards Sisaket and Surin that were once part of the Khmer Kingdom of Angkor. Accommodation in Surin.

Day 11 – SURIN / KORAT

Short visit to the city of Surin followed by the climb to the sanctuary of Phnom Rung Stone. This temple was once on the road between Angkor and Pimai. To the West lies Ban Dan Kwian, a village famous for its decorative ceramic tiles and jewelry. There is also a beautiful exhibition of traditional agricultural machinery. Accommodation in Korat.

Arrival in EuropeDay 12 – KORAT / BANGKOK

Visit of Korat with among others the memorial of the local and national heroine Thao Suranari who was the instigator of the revolt against the Laotians who occupied the region. The journey ends in Bangkok with an overnight stay in Bangkok.

Day 13 – BANGKOK

Breakfast and free time until departure to airport.
