Departure to Waddagala near the tropical forest of Sinharaja. Sinharaja (11250 ha), is in the humid zone of the country and comprises 8900 ha. of virgin forest. Springs, small rivers, waterfalls, leopards, monkeys, butterflies, rare trees, bushes and plants. It’s all there in the forest. A walk along the paths under the evergreen canopy is an unforgettable experience. Overnight in the Rainforest Edge Eco Resort or similar.

Jeep safari in the National Park of Uda Walawe. Overnight in the Grand Udawalawe Safari Resort. Uda Walawe Park was created by damming a river which created a reservoir in the middle of a deserted teak plantation. Un estimated 500 elephants, sometimes in big groups, are roaming on the grasslands around this artificial lake.
Departure to Tissamahara in the south-east of the island. Jeep safari in the YALA NATIONAL PARK in the afternoon or next morning. Overnight at the Priyankara Hotel in Tissamaharama. It’s the elephants that are most often spotted in this vast national park in the south-east of the island. They also share it with another 130 species of animals and birds, such as the sambhur deer, the spotted deer, crocodiles, monkeys, wild boar and porcupines. There is also a small population of leopard, however difficult to spot as they are very elusive. Overnight in Tissamaharama or Kataragama.
Departure to the tea area with on the way a stop at the Rawana Waterfall. Arrival in the late afternoon and overnight in Nuwara Eliya.
Excursion to the Horton Plains National Park. Overnight in Nuwara Eliya. Horton Plains is flatland with a mixtures of grasslands, bushes, small rivers and waterfalls with clear and cool water. It offers you a variety of walks, long and short invariably ending up at World’s End with a fantastic view to the southern plains below. In the afternoon, visit the Hakgala Botanical Garden. Overnight in Nuwara Eliya.
Visit a tea factory & plantation in Nuwara Eliya before departing to Kandy. Visit the Peradeniya botanical garden in the afternoon and the Temple of the Tooth for the evening ceremony. Overnight in Kandy.
Departure to the Elephant orphanage in Kegalle and then, departure to Colombo airport, if your flight leaves in the evening. (An extra night is needed if you have an early morning departure).
